It will get broken and stomped on time and time again, until it either becomes less tender or the bearer learned to guard it with "barbed wire and land mines" as a friend of mine says of his own (carefully hidden and protected) soft spots. And being a boy, it will be even worse, as for some terrible reason tenderness in the male of the species is seen as a minus by much of our world. Tim is tenderhearted too, and struggles to hide it and gets angry when it somehow manages to break through.

I want them to keep it, both your and my boy, but it makes for a hard life at times.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7663468186545705233.post-10298996207210718902009-01-29T20:31:00.000-05:002009-01-29T20:31:00.000-05:00wow, evoking tears. I feel so powerful... well, no...wow, evoking tears. I feel so powerful... well, not really. it made me tearful, too. I forget--like I said. I do recall a workshop for teaching, Facie, where the instructor made it very clear to all teachers in attendance that sarcasm was very damaging to young minds. they just don't get it--and when they do get it, it still hurts them sometimes. I need to remember that, too--esp. since I am a cynic at heart. but a heart can change!!! : )Melhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01886668831972641673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7663468186545705233.post-65570343352014340122009-01-29T10:03:00.000-05:002009-01-29T10:03:00.000-05:00That made me cry! Sometimes all Jordan wants is for Sadie to be next to her; Jordan especially loves when Sadie licks away the tears (disgusting, sure).

But other times, Sadie wants to be right in the action, which is often lying in the middle of a board game or on top of the barbies. Then Jordan gets mad. But those are the times that I just can't resist Sadie, especially when she looks up with those loving/sad eyes.

I sometimes make Jordan cry with my comments like that. I forget that she is only five and takes everything seriously (I have got to stop the sarcasm around her!).Faciehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12165861407055831754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7663468186545705233.post-68437091046730746152009-01-29T09:39:00.000-05:002009-01-29T09:39:00.000-05:00Oh, that's so sweet, Mel (she says sniffing and bl...Oh, that's so sweet, Mel (she says sniffing and blinking). God bless a sensitive child -- if only more adults retained some of that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
